FROM tiny Chihuahuas to giant Great Danes, they came in their thousands to take part in South Tyneside’s Great North Dog Walk.

More than 20,000 pets and their owners took part in the three-and-a-half mile trek along The Leas in South Shields today,

The walk’s organiser, Tony Carlisle, is confident that the final figure will beat last year’s world record of 23,301 pooches.
