HERE are some of the stars of the Pride of South Tyneside Awards 2013 – our sponsors.
The awards simply couldn’t happen without them, and we welcome back on board Barbour and BT South Tyneside.
World-famous wax jacket and outdoor clothing manufacturer, Barbour has a long and proud association with the awards, having been involved from the start.
This year, the South Shields-based company has again put its name to the Carer of the Year category.
Its chairman, Dame Margaret Barbour, said: “Barbour is proud to continue our sponsorship of the Carer of the Year award.

“As a major employer in the area, we believe it is important to recognise the outstanding contribution that both individuals and groups make to their local community.
“The Pride of South Tyneside Awards celebrate their work, and we are delighted to be sponsoring this special award.”
BT South Tyneside, which provides administrative services for South Tyneside Council and other organisations from its base at Harton Staithes in South Shields, is sponsoring the Sporting Excellence category.
Mark Johnson, head of service delivery, said: “BT South Tyneside is proud to sponsor the Sporting Excellence category in this year’s Pride Awards.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the talent, commitment and efforts of individuals and recognise the hard work they demonstrate in reaching their goals.
