Changes are no surprise
So surprise, surprise plans for South Tyneside's new library '˜The Word' have stuttered just weeks before it's due to open (October 1) in as much as the originally planned rooftop restaurant is not going ahead.
The space is being given over for additional exhibitions and event space.
However, I still think the site in general on the west side of the Market Square in South Shields should have been given over to an oblong indoor market with rooftop cafe, in keeping with the market’s overall shape.
The Word would have been better situated out of the way in the middle of the North Marine Park.
