It’s national Ataxia day

This Sunday, September 25, is International Awareness Day for Ataxia.

However, I suspect that most readers will not have a Scooby as to what Ataxia is, so here’s a very brief description:

Ataxia is the name given to a several neurological disorders for which there is no cure.

The one which I have is Cerebellar Ataxia, which affects balance and coordination as well as a host of other physical functions.

Many sufferers will eventually end up in a wheelchair.

I hope this snippet of information is helpful to people.

If you want to chase up anything or just find out more information, please contact Ataxia UK by emailing ataxia.org.uk or ringing 08456440606.
