Letter of the week: 'Best of luck, David Moyes - you are better off out of Sunderland'

Our writer displays a rare shred of sympathy for departed Sunderland boss David Moyes.

So, another manager leaves the Stadium of Light. with the fans condemnation ringing in his ears.

A man who took Everton into the champions league and regular top ten and also finishes Manger of the Year twice.

The great Alex Ferguson thought he was good enough for Manchester United. A seasoned premier league manager, as was Martin O’Neill, but guess what?

They aren’t good enough for Sunderland. They sack O’Neill after less than a full season in charge and bring in the clown that was Di Canio.

Now they are talking of Derby County’s assistant coach and Niall Quinn. When will these people realise that Sunderland have had their chance, and through incompetence at the highest

level at the club, are now facing oblivion.

A Texas billionaire who, if the ran all his businesses like he did SAFC would be skint, and Martin Bain, formerly of Glasgow Rangers (remember

them?).

The true fans deserve better but don’t start to sound like that lot up the road. I say good luck to Davy Moyes and best wishes, you are better off out of it mate.
