HEBBURN Town rounded off a disappointing Division Two campaign with a 4-2 victory at North Shields.
Gary McCartney helped himself to a hat-trick, though the victory was soured by the controversial dismissal of defender Stuart Pattison.

Daniel Gray had opened the scoring on seven minutes from a free-kick, before Stuart Hepple equalised for Shields 20 minutes later.

McCartney then got his first of the afternoon with a volley from the edge of the box, but Hebburn were pegged back again thanks to David Henderson's superb solo effort.

McCartney restored the advantage on 57 minutes with a free-kick, before Pattison was sent off after seemingly executing the perfect tackle.

But with eight minutes to go, Hebburn made sure of the points as he fired past the keeper to complete his hat-trick.
