Reyrolle aim for top-six finish

AFTER a tumultous couple of seasons, hopes are high that Hebburn Reyrolle are back on a firm footing.
There was a period last season when the club's very existence was in doubt, as they struggled for players and points.
But under the stewardship of Mark Collingwood and Duncan Donnelly – who returned to the club midway through the season – Reyrolle finished the campaign strongly to avoid relegation.
They have taken that form into the new Northern Alliance season, winning their opening Division One game 7-3 against Penrith A.
The squad has revamped, with a series of new players coming in, including Jay Telford, who hit a hat-trick on the opening day.
And new sponsors Dubl Check Cleaning Service and Swing Bridge Garage have been recruited to give the club a more solid foundation off the field.
Donnelly said: "We saved the club from relegation last season, and have only kept four or five players.
"We have brought in a mixture of young lads from junior football and experienced players who have played in the Wearside and Alliance leagues before.
"We're hoping to stablise the club, and then move forward. Top six is an aim – if we get beyond that it would be a bonus. We're just hoping to compete on a week-to-week basis.
"Ultimately, though, our aim is to get into the Premier Division."
Club official Gordon Taylor said: "Things are looking quite good. We would hope for a top six or better with the squad we have got.
"There's some good sides in the league this season, with Rutherford, Wallington, and Cullercoats who have all strengthened their squad as well.
"Mark Collingwood may say he wants top two and promotion, but I think that may be for next season."
