JARROW Roofing went out of the FA Cup last night after a battling Preliminary Round replay clash at Bridlington.

The game was always going to be a tough ask for the Northern League Division Two side, against opponents who have started their North East Counties League campaign extremely well.

The two sides drew 2-2 at Roofing on Saturday, but despite the efforts of Eifion Williams, who scored for the visitors, Richie McLoughlin's side went down 2-1.

McLoughlin was not too disheartened by Roofing's cup exit, with his side preferring to concentrate on getting promoted back to Division One.

He said: "We played well, which was the main thing. It could have gone either way, and Bridlington played well also, so they deserved their victory.

"We're not going to win the FA Cup, so I'm not too bothered about going out.

"There's too many competitions we're in at the moment – the FA Vase, Durham County Cup, the League Cup as well as the league."
