SOUTH Shields begin the hunt for silverware tonight when they entertain Wearside League outfit Hartlepool in the Durham Challenge Cup.
Shields got back to winning ways on Saturday with a hard-fought 1-0 triumph at Penrith.
It was no more than the Mariners deserved, and kept them in the top half of the Northern League Division One table.
Boss Gary Steadman is also hoping for a good cup run this season, and Shields's name hasn't appeared on the Durham Challenge Cup since 1977.
A home tie against Wearside League strugglers Hartlepool – who are third bottom of their division – is a great chance to progress, although Steadman will be without the suspended David Graham, who has been in fine form of late.
