SOUTH Shields must beat league leaders Billingham Synthonia tonight if they are to haul themselves out of relegation trouble.
The Mariners, third bottom of the Northern League First Division, host the Teessiders at Filtrona Park.

Boss Gary Steadman has bemoaned the mistakes his side continue to make, with another error costing them victory against Billingham Town at the weekend.

At the other end of the pitch, he has plenty of strikers to choose from, with new signing Paul Taylor partnering Jonny Wightman in attack at the weekend.

Shields are top heavy with forwards, with other options including Willie Crew, Mark Johnson, Dean Patton, Tony Coe and David Graham at Steadman's disposal, and the Shields boss is expected to cut the size of his squad.
