SIMONSIDE SC manager Gordon Diamond is eyeing silverware this season after a largely successful campaign last time around.

Sima finished fourth in the Durham Alliance, but were disappointed not to have done better in one of the cup competitions.

But with a strikeforce of Sean Flood and Shaun Edwards in tandem, Diamond is hoping for even more from his team this season.

He said: "Last year was good, but I expect us to challenge for some silverware this season."

Former Cleadon player Kyle Riley, and ex-Harton attacker James Roberts have also boosted the Sima squad.

Simonside travel to Birtley Town Reserves tomorrow, having opened their season with a 3-0 with at Hartlepool St Francis.
