JARROW Roofing got their promotion campaign back on track with a 3-0 victory at Whickham.

Having already put 11 goals past the opposition in two games this season, it was another comfortable victory for Richie McLoughlin's side, with three strikes before half-time killing the game off.

Roofing were never in any real trouble after they opened their account on 10 minutes when a Kevin Davison corner was met at the near post by David Graham, who hit a powerful sidefoot into the corner of the net.

It was 2-0 on 35 minutes when another great corner kick delivery from Davison saw Craig Tate volley home at the far post.

Whickham began to pile forward to try to rescue the game, but the two half-chances that they had were well dealt with by Adam Dowell.

And, as they pressed again, they were hit on the counter-attack as Graham played the ball through the middle for the pacy Davison, who raced from just inside his own half, and as the keeper advanced, drove a superb shot past him.

After the interval Whickham enjoyed the slope and the breeze to force a series of corners, but they could not penetrate the resolute Roofing defence, who held firm without conceding.
