NEWCASTLE should sack Joey Barton, according to the latest post on our Football Forum.
The controversial midfielder, jailed for six months yesterday after admitting charges of assault and affray, faces an uncertain future, with Newcastle United reportedly considering how to deal with their star.

It is being widely reported that manager Kevin Keegan is ready to stand by the former Manchester City star, while the club's hierarchy would prefer to draw a line under the £5.8m signing's St James's Park career.

But poster toontoon is in no doubt what should happen next in the troubled star's career. He reckons Joey has already wasted too many second chances to change his ways.

"Newcastle will never get a better chance to do the right thing and get rid of Barton," he writes.

"If he was anything else other than a footballer his boss would have sacked him for his disgraceful behaviour, yet here he is again being allowed dragging the club's good name down into the gutter."
