Foo Fighters album shaping up to be a classic

TOO many albums which reach the No 1 slot do so on hype rather than merit: happily that's not the case here.
And, what's more, it had the added bonus of knocking James Blunt off the top, before it, too, was unseated by Bruce Springsteen.
Dave Grohl's band play the quiet-loud card better than most, and it's here in abundance on the their sixth studio album.
I didn't get this in time to review for release date, due to the postal strike, but it's never been out of my CD player since. Yes, it's that good.
It starts well with lead single The Pretender, and the big songs just keep coming, with Let It Die, Erase/Replace and But, Honestly all shaping up to be classic Foos tracks.
