SIXNATION STATE
SixNation State (Jeepster)

REMEMBER the name of this lively London band, because if there's any justice in the world they'll become massive.
A string of excellent singles over the last couple of years have paved the way for this debut album, which contains everything from lolloping indie rock to jaunty ska. Great stuff.

Here's the best of this week's other new releases:

JAKOBINARINA
The First Crusade (Regal)
THIS debut album by the Icelandic six-piece is one of the maddest things I've heard all year, and I love it.
It's full of angular guitar which makes Bloc Party sound as dull as Simply Red and vocals which remind me a lot of The Stranglers at their shoutiest best.

MANU CHAO
La Radiolina (Because Music)
The French-Spanish singer blends so many genres of music on his first album for six years that it's difficult to keep track.
World music is perhaps the best way to define it, as there's something here for everyone to enjoy, whether they're into reggae, post-punk, Latino or African rhythms.

FATBOY SLIM
The Greatest Hits Remixed (Skint Records)
IRONIC, isn't it, that a bloke who made his name twiddling with other people's music has now had the same treatment himself?
I'd say this 2CD-set is for dance afficionados, rather than casual fans.
