DAVID Prince treats the environment like royalty.
The 35-year-old entrepreneur runs The Ethical Office, as well as his own IT company.
He is also a volunteer director of Sports Recycler.
Trish Armitage, from Sports Recycler, has nominated him in the Greener South Tyneside category of the Pride of South Tyneside Awards.
She said: "David has a vision of the world, local and wider, where waste is a thing of the past.
"He works to promote this, through encouraging people to use ethical products and to recycle their goods for refurbishment and re-use by the community.
"Through his efforts, David is doing more than his fair share to make sure the environment is protected, preserved and nurtured, and the abuse of landfill is stemmed.
"David is a true inspiration and role model, as well as a thoroughly dedicated and committed person."
David runs his IT business, Techform Services, and The Ethical Office, which has been going for six months, from a unit at Tedco Business Works, in Henry Robson Way, South Shields.
"If you are buying goods for the office, there are ethical choices that are cost-effective," he said.
"It is just a simple means of doing something a little bit green. In my normal, day-to-day business, I make people aware of green issues and how they can make small changes that are not going to affect them in a big way."
Sports Recycler, also based at Tedco, hires out sporting equipment at an affordable rate to promote physical activity.
Mr Prince, from Tanfield Gardens, South Shields, said: "It is all about promoting a healthy lifestyle.
"It is a enterprise, so any profits go into the organisation to help it grow and do good things for the community."
