NEWCASTLE, Man United, Spurs, Wigan and Blackburn are making today's headlines.
Newcastle legend Alan Shearer has politely declined an invitation from Joe Kinnear to join the coaching staff at St James' Park (Guardian).

Shearer has voiced his support for Newcastle striker Michael Owen. "He's not frightened of missing chances", where other players "miss a chance and shrivel up". (Daily Telegraph).
