SUNDERLAND have today been linked with a move for Manchester City defender Richard Dunne.
Reports suggest that Roy Keane is ready to exploit the chaos at City and sign defender Richard Dunne in a £2.5m deal.

Keane is looking for more strength and leadership at the back, and his former Republic of Ireland team-mate would fit the bill perfectly.

Dunne - who is one of Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan's top summer transfer targets - will leave City, where he has one year left on his contract, as owner Thaksin Shinawatra raises funds for new faces.

The 28-year-old has proved to be one of the top flight's most solid performers - and today's Daily Mirror says the Irish connection makes a move to the Stadium of Light appealing to him.
