SUNDERLAND are today being linked with a sensational £11m move for Spurs striker Darren Bent.
The England international cost Tottenham £16.5m last summer when he left Championship-bound Charlton Athletic.

But he has failed to force his way past Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane to become a first-team regular at White Hart Lane.

And although he has stated he is perfectly happy to stay and fight for a place, it is understood he is fast losing patience.

It was reported today by the fansfc.com website that Sunderland boss Roy Keane may be willing to pay £11m to take Bent to the Stadium of Light in the summer.

Such a fee would eclipse the £9m club record signing of goalkeeper Craig Gordon from Hearts last summer.
