CARLOS Edwards today joined Mick McCarthy's Wolverhampton Wanderers on a three-month loan deal.
Edwards will go straight into the former Sunderland manager's squad and is in line to make his debut in the difficult away trip to Swansea City this Saturday.
Edwards, who turns 30 this month, has yet to feature in the Premier League this season, although he did appear in Sunderland's uninspiring victory over Northampton Town last week in the Carling Cup.
And the move to Molineux is seen as perhaps the perfect way to kick-start a career which has hit the buffers since the flying winger suffered a string of injuries last injury.
The Trinidad & Tobago international was a star player for Sunderland in Roy Keane's first season.

Edwards' pace and his eye for goal added a new dimension to his new team's play and he was one of only two Sunderland players - Dean Whitehead was the other - who made the PFA Championship XI at the end of that season.
Last season was a disaster for him though.
After an injury-disrupted pre-season, Edwards suffered a serious hamstring injury in the first week of the season in an away game at Birmingham City.
He endured several setbacks before finally returning to the first team, only to suffer a leg break almost immediately, in a game against Derby County at the Stadium of Light in December.
Since then he has struggled to recapture his old form, and the arrival of new signings like Steed Malbranque and El-Hadji Diouf has reduced any reliance on the right-winger..
