WALES coach Dean Saunders wants Sunderland's Danny Collins to return to the international fold.
Manager John Toshack yesterday named 35 players for the friendlies in Iceland on May 28 and Holland on June 1.
And his assistant Saunders admitted he is bemused by the continued absence of Sunderland's Danny Collins from the squad.
Collins opted to concentrate on his Premier League career last season - but it appears he has done that now.
Sunderland secured their top-flight status, and fans at the Stadium of Light voted him their player of the year.
Saunders said: "The door is still open, we are just waiting for the call.
"He had his reasons for not being involved, he wanted to establish himself at Sunderland.
"Well, they have stayed up and he has done well.
"But I must admit that nothing stopped me playing for Wales, and I cannot understand such problems or arguments.
"I find it very difficult to understand."
