Full Tilt Poker has announced their first official ambassador of the company upon their relaunch. Swedish professional poker player, Gus Hansen will be the ‘face’ of the new website, which is expected to open its virtual doors on the 6th November.
Hansen was a member of the exclusive Full Tilt Team on the website, prior to their shutdown following the events of Black Friday last year. He joined the website back in 2006 and has stayed loyal to the brand as they faced serious legal allegations. The three time World Poker Tour open title winner is now set to return as the first name on the list of industry pros who will undoubtedly be signing up.
“I’m very excited to represent the industry’s most authentic poker brand,” stated Hansen on his new role. “Full Tilt Poker has the best games, most innovative software and the strongest poker community; to me this feels like coming home.”
Full Tilt Poker are welcoming Hansen with open arms. Sarne Lightman, the new Head of Marketing for the Full Tilt Poker website has commented on the partnership, saying “Gus is one of the best known and most respected names in the poker community. Gus has always embodied the best characteristics of the Full Tilt Poker brand and we are thrilled to have him return as an ambassador.”
The poker pro is set to help repair the damaged reputation of the poker brand, as well as attracting new customers to the website. Hansen has won over $11 million in his poker career and has an interest in online poker games and high stake versions of the game. At the height of his popularity, Hansen was entertaining online audiences of Full Tilt Poker by competing against fellow pros nightly on high stake games. He has battled it out on the virtual felt against some of the biggest names in the industry; having played against Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey.
