HEBBURN skipper Lee Tatum won the toss against Ulgham and choose to bat on what seemed a good batting wicket.
The Ulgham bowlers caused some trouble, and had the Hebburn top three back in the hut for 20 runs.

However, David Berry was hard done by as the umpire failed to notice the inside edge on to his pads before giving him out lbw.

Sterling work from man of the match Michael Collins (30), supported by Lee Tatum (29), Aidan Berry (35) and Graeme Taylor (14) got Hebburn back into the match as they posted a total of 144 all out.

Hebburn started the second innings with Gareth Douglas (1-30 from 13 overs) and Mark Carmichael (five overs for 24) who showed the effort needed and pushed hard for the early wickets which would signal a tight game.

Ulgham's openers Colin Tait and Alan Hynd batted lowly but securely, and pushed their side to a win.

Simon Whitehead (five overs for 16 runs) and Aidan Berry (12 overs for 24 runs) again epitomised the effort in the field with more tight bowling.

Eventually Hebburn got a breakthrough and managed to get three wickets, but Ulgham got home after 44 overs despite wickets from Gary Taylor and Nick Whitehead.
