KEVIN Keegan has ushered Kamil Zayatte into St James's Park – as James Milner waits to go.

Versatile defender Zayatte is set to become Newcastle United's latest summer signing.

The 23-year-old Guinea international – who had a brief trial at Everton earlier this week – is poised to join from Swiss club Young Boys.

Zayatte, who can play at right-back and centre-half, joined Young Boys from Lens a year ago.

And Zayatte – who can also operate as a defensive midfielder – impressed for club and country last season, sparking a bidding war.

United, however, are in pole position to sign him, with the player currently on Tyneside, and having been impressed by the club.
