ON-LOAN defender Jonny Evans is the first player Roy Keane would like to sign for Sunderland this summer.
The Northern Ireland international has just finished a second successful loan spell at thre Stadium of Light.

And while Keane admits he would love to sign him on a permanent basis, he admits the ball is very much in Manchester United's court.

"We had the same conversation last summer when we got promoted," said Keane.

"I was asked if Jonny was available and I said, 'It is out of our hands', and I am going to give you the same answer. It is out of our hands.

"He is under contract at Manchester United. But would I like to bring people like Jonny to the football club? You bet your life I would."
