CHRIS Hughton says he isn't planning any January sales at Newcastle United.
There is certain to be interest in the likes of Andy Carroll and Jonas Gutierrez when the transfer window reopens.
But Hughton – who hopes to be given funds to strengthen his promotion-chasing squad by owner Mike Ashley – is determined that there won't be any departures from St James's Park.
"I'm confident that we won't lose anybody – all I'm thinking of is adding, and not taking away," Hughton told the Gazette. "I'm not looking at anybody leaving.
"I appreciate that we have quite a tight squad. What you do is build up a spirit and a team ethic, and we must make sure what we add are the right numbers and right personnel."
Hughton – understood to be targeting a centre-half in January – is already working through lists of transfer targets.
And he also has to decide whether to extend the loans of Danny Simpson, Marlon Harewood and Zurab Khizanishvili.
