Andy happy with one after scrappy game
ANDY Carroll had scored a hat-trick on his previous visit to the Riverside Stadium.
But the Newcastle United striker was happy to settle for a solitary goal this time.
Carroll levelled the scores against Middlesbrough seven minutes from time in Saturday's Tees-Tyne derby in what was, by his own admission, one of his poorest games for the club.

The England Under-21 international – who confirmed after the game he is again being targeted by Scotland – had happy memories of a visit with Newcastle's reserves almost three years ago, when he banged in a first-half hat-trick.
And the 21-year-old made his only real chance count, beating Danny Coyne for his 12th goal of the campaign after substitute Ryan Taylor crossed from the right.
"I didn't have the best game myself," said Carroll. "It was a scrappy game, but it was great to get the equaliser. It made me feel a lot better, but as I say it was a disappointing game.
"I've scored a few goals in the reserves against Middlesbrough, and that was in my mind. The last time I went to the Riverside was with the reserves, and I remembered I'd got a hat-trick.
"I've got a good record and always hoped that it would happen again. We'll take a point and 2-2, that's for certain. Now we just look to the next game."
Peter Lovenkrands struck United's other goal in the 2-2 draw, the strike taking his tally for the season to 13.
"I was just pleased I could help the team by getting the goal," said Lovenkrands.
"It was a very important goal from Andy at the end. It gave us the point we needed, and that point could turn out to be a very important one come the end of the season."
