CHELSEA, Manchester United, Newcastle and and Manchester City were making the transfer headlines today.

Chelsea and City are vying for the services of a player once linked with Newcastle United, according to reports.

The Premier League big boys are competing to sign Paris St-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi, 26, on a free transfer, claims the Daily Express.

The France international, who was linked with a move Newcastle a couple of season ago, is out of contract in the summer.
