DEMBA Ba’s a doubt for Sunday’s game against Liverpool.
The striker was forced off the field against West Bromwich Albion with a shin injury yesterday.
And Ba – who got Newcastle United off the mark with his seventh Premier League goal of the season – was today being assessed ahead of the club’s visit to Anfield.
“It’s a little nerve in Demba’s shin,” Pardew told the Gazette.
“We’re not sure (if he’ll be fit) – it’s an unusual one.”
Ironically, Liverpool have been linked with a January move for Ba, who will again be available for £7m because of a release clause in his contract.
Brendan Rodgers has just one fit striker – Luis Suarez – after Fabio Borini broke his foot.
Rodgers has already insisted former Newcastle striker Andy Carroll won’t be recalled from his season-long loan at West Ham United.
Pardew will definitely be without midfielder Cheik Tiote, who serves the second of his three-game ban for his dismissal against Sunderland.
