FORMER St James’s Park favourite Lee Clark could be the next boss at Newcastle - the Down Under version, that is!
The ex-Newcastle, Sunderland and Fulham midfielder is being linked with the head coach’s job at Newcastle Jets, who play in Australia’s A-League.
The club, based in New South Wales, are reportedly set to interview a candidate, believed to be Clark, in the next few weeks.
The Jets playing staff last season included former Newcastle, Sunderland and Leeds forward Michael Bridges, who recently announced his retirement, and ex-Liverpool and England striker Emile Heskey.
As a player, Clark had two spells at Newcastle United, and was their reserve team manager and coach after he retired.
He left to become assistant manager to Glenn Roeder at Norwich City, then had three and a half years at Huddersfield Town.
After being sacked in February 2012, his next job was at Championship club Birmingham City.
But his future there is under threat, as the Blues are in danger of being relegated to League One.
