MANCHESTER United made a lot of the transfer headlines today – with Wayne Rooney again at the forefront.
The England man’s future was the source of constant speculation during the summer.
However, the Independent reported today that Man United remain convinced that the relationship between manager David Moyes and Rooney can resolve the outstanding grievances the player has with the club and open the door to talks about a contract extension.
Meanwhile, Monaco vice-chairman Vadim Vasilyev has claimed that the club had no interest in signing Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo or Carlos Tevez this summer.
One player who has left Old Trafford, however, is Jesse Lingard, who has signed on loan for Birmingham City.
