Dave Bell was extremely happy with Jarrow’s performance against Stokesley after they claimed a 3-1 home win on Saturday in the TWR Bi Folds Wearside Football League.
Jarrow dominated from the start and took the lead after a brilliant 25-yard strike from Jonny Hirst midway through the first half.
Jarrow continued to create a number of chances, but failed to find that killer second goal in the first half.
After the break, Jarrow upped their game and deservedly went 2-0 up through Kris Allen.
Allen’s goal looked to have put Jarrow on the road to three easy points.
However, Stokesley pulled a goal back to give themselves a glimmer of hope minutes later.
Hit-man Allen restored Jarrow’s two-goal lead minutes later with a goal that seemed to finally knock the stuffing out of their opponents.
Speaking after the victory, Jarrow boss Bell said: “Overall, we are happy with the performance.
“The lads played really well, particular in the second half.
“We dominated and created a number of chances where we could, and should, have scored more.”
Jarrow now turn their attentions to Wednesday night when they play Annfield Plain at home.
Elsewhere in the Wearside League, South Shields Reserves and Boldon CA fought out a goalless draw in a game of few chances.
Harton and Westoe CW narrowly lost out 2-1 when they made the short journey to Gateshead Leam Rangers.
