Having slipped to seventh in the table after a 0-0 draw against Easington and a 2-1 loss at lowly Esh Winning, manager Scott Oliver is eyeing victory.

Oliver said: “Tomorrow is a game we need to win. Billingham are a good team who sit fourth, but if we have ambitions to challenge the top three, we need to win this one.

“Last Saturday’s draw at Easington was important after our display against Esh Winning.

“The lads were very good, much more committed and focused. We try to be well disciplined and organised and the clean sheet was well deserved.

“We have a striker problem against Billingham, with only Channon North available as Jason Blackburn (suspended), James Davidson (holiday), Glen Hargrave (working) and Will Smith (groin injury) are all missing.

“Dan Reeves will again play alongside Channon, despite being short of match fitness.

“Dan lasted an hour in the same role last Saturday, so we are hoping he is a bit sharper this weekend.

“Ian Bickerstaff has a sore ankle, but I would imagine he will be fit despite missing training.”

“The Synners have struggled away from home recently so we must take any chances we get.

“Mick Watson returns to the squad after suffering mild concussion against Esh Winning.”
