Newcastle United today signed Isaac Hayden from Arsenal.

The 21-year-old has penned a five-year deal at St James's Park.

We have been doing our research on Hayden, who spent last season on loan at Hull City.

Here are seven things you might not know about Newcastle's fifth summer signing.

* Versatile Hayden – whose primary position is central midfield – has represented England at Under-20 level.

* The only senior goal of Hayden's career so far came in Hull's 6-0 win over Charlton Athetlic in January.

* Chelmsford-born Hayden started his career at Brentwood Boys and also played for Southend United.

* Hayden's father Sol was a youth player at Aston Villa.

* Arsenal signed Hayden – who can also play in defence – in 2008. He signed a scholarship in 2011, aged 16.

* Hayden made two Capital One Cup appearances for Arsenal.
