HATEM Ben Arfa’s Newcastle United comeback is likely to be put back – because he’s not yet fit.
The forward had been expected to be involved in Saturday’s game against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
However, manager Alan Pardew says Ben Arfa – out since December with a hamstring problem – is behind with his fitness work.
“His conditioning’s disappointed me this week,” said Pardew.
“He’ll be working hard over the next few days. He lacks a bit of fitness. We need to push him.
“His upper body strength is there – but we’re working on his general fitness.”
Meanwhile, Pardew says captain Fabricio Coloccini is “doubtful” with the back injury he suffered last weekend.
And goalkeeper Tim Krul (ankle) is “four or five” weeks away from a comeback.
