THE pursuit of Brazilian star Willian is making the transfer headlines today.
The winger – linked with a host of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Newcastle United at one point – looks set to move to England.
The Daily Mirror reports Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has telephoned Anzhi Makhachkala owner Suleyman Kerimov to offer £32m for winger the 25-year-old, in an attempt to prevent the Brazilian joining Tottenham.
And the Daily Mail say Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is so angry about Chelsea’s pursuit of Willian he is ready cancel the £94m transfer of Wales forward Gareth Bale, 24, to Real Madrid.
But the Independent report Bale could be sold before the weekend after Tottenham’s technical director Franco Baldini flew to Madrid to finalise the transfer – while Spurs hope to complete deals for Roma’s 21-year-old Argentine forward Erik Lamela and Bosnia midfielder Miralem Pjanic, 23.
