Cisse out of Newcastle squad as Campbell gets call-up

ILLNESS ... Papiss Demba Cisse.

ILLNESS ... Papiss Demba Cisse.

  • by MILES STARFORTH

TEENAGER Adam Campbell’s in Newcastle United’s squad for Anzhi Makhachkala – but Papiss Demba Cisse has been left behind on

Alan Pardew took a 19-man squad to Moscow this morning for tomorrow night’s Europa League Round of 16 tie.

As expected, fit-again forward Hatem Ben Arfa was included, but striker Cisse misses out through illness.

Campbell – who made his Newcastle debut in Europe early this season – instead travelled, and the 17-year-old could make the bench at the Luzhniki Stadium.

SQUAD: Elliot, Alnwick, Shola Ameobi, Anita, Ben Arfa, Bigirimana, Cabaye, Campbell, Gosling, Haidara, Marveaux, Obertan, Perch, Santon, Simpson, Sissoko, S Taylor, Tiote, Yanga-Mbiwa.
