EVERTON were today linked with a reported Newcastle United target, while two Premier League big boys said they won’t make major January signings.
The Daily Mirror reported today that Everton are ready to make a January move for Icelandic striker Alfred Finnbogason, 24, with Nikica Jelavic, 28, set to leave Goodison Park in the transfer window.
Finnbogason has been heavily linked with Newcastle in recent weeks.
One team who won’t apparently be buying a striker, however, is Chelsea.
The Daily Telegraph reported today that manager Jose Mourinho has ruled out making any signings in January despite the poor Premier League goalscoring record of strikers Fernando Torres, 29, Samuel Eto’o, 32, and Demba Ba, 28, this season.
And despite their awful Premier League form, Manchester United manager David Moyes says he is unlikely to bring in multiple reinforcements during the January transfer windoww.
