Henri Lansbury is out of Nottingham Forest's game against Newcastle United.
The midfielder was involved in the controversial dismissals of Jonjo Shelvey and Paul Dummett in last week's 2-1 defeat at the City Ground.
United manager Rafa Benitez was furious with Lansbury's antics in the Championship match.
But the 26-year-old will not be available for the return match at St James's Park on December 30.
Forest manager Philippe Montanier today revealed that Lansbury will be out for "several weeks" with a hamstring injury.
Reflecting on his clash with Shelvey, Shelvey said: "Last week, I felt that I didn't deserve to be sent off to be honest with you.
"I thought the boy (Lansbury) made a meal of it, but it is what it is.
"Obviously, I still felt like I'd let the team down because we ended up losing the game. I felt that I needed to go out there (against Birmingham City) and owe one to the team and owe one to the fans, and I think that I've done that, and repaid them."
