JONAS Gutierrez is back on Tyneside and in contention to return to the squad for Saturday’s game against Norwich City.
The Newcastle United winger has missed the club’s last five league and cup games after being allowed to return to his native Argentina because of what manager Alan Pardew described as a “personal issue.”
But Gutierrez returned to training this week ahead of Norwich’s visit to St James’s Park.
“He’s fine,” said Pardew. “He’s trained this week, and I’m really pleased to have him in and around us.”
Asked if he could be involved against Norwich, Pardew added: “Potentially.”
