Jonjo Shelvey has revealed the steps he's taking to calm his temper.
The midfielder was sent off in yesterday's 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at St James's Park.
Shelvey was dismissed after treading on Dele Alli's ankle.
The sending off changed the game, and Shelvey apologised to his team-mates after the final whistle.
Shelvey has told the Daily Mail that he started seeing a psychologist to "work on the mental side of things" after last season's sending off against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
Speaking before the Tottenham game, he said: "Look, sometimes I just need to reign it in on the football pitch.
"I need to just shut up and stuff. I need to not get involved and walk away.
"I started to see a psychologist last year to work on the mental side of things. It was after the Forest game. I was sent off.
"I had kicked out at this lad (Henri Lansbury), and it was just childish."
Shelvey will miss United's next three games through suspension.
