Newcastle United were yet again knocked down a peg on home turf, this time by Fulham.

But how did the players rate in the 3-0 loss?

Here's our take on this afternoon's St James's Park failure...

Newcastle XI

Karl Darlow - Had very little to do bar pick the ball out of the net three times... 6

Vurnon Anita - Came out of this one the least damaged of United's backline... 6

Rafa Benitez and his coaching staff.

Rafa Benitez and his coaching staff.

Jamaal Lascelles - An error-strewn game for the usually solid defender. Not one of his better days... 4

Ciaran Clark - Injury seemed to cut his day short... 5

Paul Dummett Gave away a late penalty and was at fault for the third... 4

Jack Colback - Gave absolutely everything out there but looks a very, very tired midfielder. Looks like he needs a rest... 6

Jonjo Shelvey - Allowed petulance to get the better of him in the first half and never really recovered from it in the second... 4

Christian Atsu - Another who ran his socks off out wide, with very little to show for it... 6

Mo Diame - As frustrating a player as Moussa Sissoko ever was, just without the drive or pace. Looked lost playing off the front... 4

Matt Ritchie - Was far from his best on the day. It wasn't for a lack of effort but his final ball, in key areas, was sadly lacking... 5

Dwight Gayle - Given little to no service. Hard to judge him on this one. One or two long balls to chase in opening 45 but that was about it... 5

Subs

Daryl Murphy (for Diame 61) - A cracking strike. Added a physical presence when he came on... 7

Jesus Gamez (for Clark 64) - Full of running. A decent impact on left... 6

Yoan Gouffran (for Gayle 74) N/A

Subs not used: Rob Elliot, Grant Hanley, Ayoze Perez, Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Referee: James Linnington - To be fair he didn't really get all that much wrong. Penalty call was right in the closing stages. Was probably a bit lenient, especially with Shelvey... 7
