BRYAN Ruiz’s agent has told the Gazette that the FC Twente player is yet to decide between a move to Newcastle or Fulham.
Ruiz had been backed to sign for Fulham for £10m-plus, with FC Twente sources insisting Newcastle had expressed their interest in the 26-year-old too late.
But Ruiz’s agent Walter Mortelmans has told us: “Nothing is settled yet. We will make a decision later on tonight.”
Mortelmans confirmed that Ruiz’s choices are Fulham and Newcastle, who have seemingly switched their sights to him after being snubbed in a bid for Freiburg striker Papiss Demba Cisse.
Newcastle have also retained an interest in Sochaux striker Modibo Maiga, but negotiations with the French club have stalled, meaning they have turned their attention elsewhere.
