Newcastle boss Alan Pardew hails unsung heroes

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew

ALAN Pardew’s paid tribute to Newcastle United’s unsung heroes ahead of the club’s visit to The Hawthorns.

Pardew will make a late decision on Cheik Tiote’s availability, with the influential midfielder rated “50-50” for the West Bromwich Albion game.

However, the club’s manager has complete faith in Danny Guthrie and James Perch, who played central midfield in last weekend’s 1-0 win over Norwich City.

Newcastle’s Cheik Tiote doubt for Baggies clash

“Guthrie and Perch have been outstanding,” Pardew told the Gazette. “When I say that I mean all year.

“It was great that Perchy played so well against Norwich.

“He played centre-back against Norwich earlier in the season, and wasn’t at fault for the goals, but he played centre-midfield and ended on the winning side, and I thought that was apt.”
