The 23-year-old, signed from Melbourne Heart in 2012, has been playing regularly for Newcastle's Under-23s this season.

Good – who underwent surgery on his hip – is in Peter Beardsley's squad for this afternoon's Premier League 2 home game against West Bromwich Albion at Whitley Park (1pm).

"The last couple of years have been stop and start, but I’ve stopped thinking about it now, which is important," Good told nufc.co.uk.

"Confidence is high with my body at the moment, and I haven’t had that in a few years.

“There was a stage when I didn’t think I’d ever stop thinking about it, but I did, so it’s credit to the people who have worked with me to fix the problem.

“This is the best I’ve felt in the last two and a half years. I think I put five or six games together in a short space of time, and I hadn’t done that since I was about 20. I feel great.

“I’ve got to prove to myself and other people that I can play week in, week out without any issues.

"I just want to keep playing and enjoy it as well, because you realise how much you miss it when you don’t have it. It’s great to get the opportunity to play again.”
