STEVEN Taylor’s agent has confirmed that the defender won’t be leaving Newcastle United – as the Gazette revealed a fortnight ago.
Taylor has been linked with moves to Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace this summer after finding his first-team chances at Newcastle limited.
However he is determined to stay at St James’s Park and fight for his place in Alan Pardew’s plans, with the manager having told him he wants him to stay.
Taylor’s representative, Jonathan Hope, said: “I can confirm that I’ve had talks to several clubs in regards to Taylor.
“Yes a lot of interest and great opportunities but I will state now that Steven Taylor is going nowhere.
“He is contractually obliged to Newcastle United and he wants to play for the club he loves.
“Despite media reports I’m saying now Steven Taylor and myself are not interested in talking to anyone else. Our focus is Newcastle and fighting for a place in Alan Pardew’s plans.
“We are not looking to leave Newcastle and hopefully this will end speculation over his future.”
