TIM Krul’s facing several weeks on the sidelines at Newcastle United.
The goalkeeper injured his ankle in last night’s 1-0 win over Metalist Kharkiv in the Ukraine.
And Krul had a scan today after arriving back on Tyneside.
The 24-year-old is yet to see an ankle specialist, and the club has not put a timescale on his comeback.
However, BBC Radio Newcastle are reporting that he will be out for five weeks.
Krul’s injury means a Premier League debut for Rob Elliot on Sunday when Southampton visit St James’s Park.
