Newcastle United are ready to revive their interest in Andros Townsend.
And Townsend is understood to be on the Rafa Benitez's summer transfer shortlist.
However, Palace – who yesterday parted company with manager Sam Allardyce – are not, at this stage, looking to sell the 25-year-old, who spent the second half of the 2015-16 season at Newcastle.
The England international left the club last summer in the wake of its relegation from the Premier League.
Benitez, promised "every penny" that the club generates through promotion and player sales by owner Mike Ashley, is looking to strengthen a number of positions this summer.
Palace's stance on Townsend could change when the club appoints a successor to Allardyce, whose decision to retire surprised his players.
Townsend simply tweeted "wow" after news broke of his departure.
