Adam Armstrnog has joined Bolton Wanderers on a half-season loan.
The 20-year-old forward will stay at the Macron Stadium until January 4.
Armstrong came off the bench for Newcastle in Friday night's 2-1 win over Heart of Midlothian at Tynecastle.
But the England Under-20 international didn't travel to Ireland yesterday with his United team-mates.
And Armstrong – who has previously had loan spells at Barnsley and Coventry City – will spent another six months away from his hometown club.
The Under-20 World Cup winner will be reunited with former Newcastle winger Sammy Ameobi at Bolton.
Ameobi joined the club on a permanent deal this summer after his United deal expired.
