Newcastle United news: Winger nets BIG deal, Lascelles opens up

Rolando Aarons has committed himself to Newcastle United after almost two years of talks.

The winger has signed a five-year deal at St James's Park after impressing manager Rafa Benitez.

Aarons, preparing for Saturday's Championship home game against Huddersfield Town, has reacted to the news.

Newly-appointed captain Jamaal Lascelles has been speaking about the challenge of leading the club in English football's second tier.

Benitez handed the 22-year-old the armband on a full-time basis last week.

And Lascelles, signed from Nottingham Forest two years ago, feels he IS ready for the responsibility that comes with the captaincy.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are hoping to complete the loan capture of Everton defender Brendan Galloway this week.
